       Colonial, filamentous algae as mucilaginous balls
       Filaments: uniseriate, unbranched, beaded appearance

       Prokaryotic, two layers of  mucopolysachride
       Protoplasm divided into centroplasm and chromoplasm
       Centroplasm contains DNA
       Chromoplasm contains pigments and thylakoids
       Reserve food: Cyanophycean strach and cyanophycean protein granules
