1. Leaves usually exstipulate.

2. Sepals and petals are clearly differentiated.

3.Anthers are usually extrose*.

4. Style and stigma usually present.

5. Sarcotesta absent.

6. Wood usually is aromatic.

Difference Between Annonaceae and Magnoliaceae

Magnoliaceae (Magnolia Family)

1. Leaves usually stipulate

2. Usually the sepals and petals are undifferentiated.

3. Anthers are usually introse*.

4.Style and stigma abesnt in some species.

5.Sarcotesta* present in the seeds.

6. Woods is not usually aromatic. 

*Introse: Turned inwards or towards the axis. In the case of anthers, dehiscing longitudinally inwards. 

*Extrose: Applied to anthers that open away from the centre of the flower, so releasing their pollen outside the flower and promoting cross pollination.
